Kate Meier

Kate’s dance career began in 2011 when she stepped into the Latin Rhythm Dance Club at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). During her four years there, Kate choreographed, performed, and instructed in a variety of Latin dances including Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, and Salsa Rueda.

Since then, Kate has continued to build her repertoire in Latin dance, Kizomba and Brazilian Zouk by choreographing and instructing for colleges and universities in the Western New York region including the University at Buffalo (UB), University of Rochester, and Buffalo State College. Kate has lead multiple university teams to award winning performances in her tenure at RIT and UB. Today, she continues to train in Latin dance with the Art in Motion team.

2013 marked the start of Kate’s Kizomba journey in Rochester, NY. Instantly falling in love with this African rhythm, Kate has since traveled in the US and Canada to learn Kizomba from internationally recognized instructors. Kate is best known for her skills as a female lead on the social dance floor, leading all levels of dancers. Kate strives to teach the deep connection of Kizomba in her instruction while building the Kizomba community in Philadelphia & NJ.
